De meeste bananen kun je simpelweg aan de bovenkant opentrekken maar bij bepaalde merken druk je dan eerst de hele bovenkant plat voordat de schil scheurt. Bij die bananen gebruikte ik altijd gewoon een schillenmesje. Het handige daarvan is, zodra je de banaan dan uit de schil trekt, dat die ranzige zwarte pit blijft zitten. Maar dit is wel veel leuker! Overigens kun je een appel beter ook over zijn horizontale as doorsnijden dan over de verticale as. Althans, dat vind met op de UvA zo.

wat ik toch weer niet helemaal snap, want die apen op de rots in Artis-Amsterdam doen het nog weer anders:
Die bijten ongeveer halverwege aan de buitenbocht de schil door, breken de zo geopende banaan in twee helften, en schuiven die binnen 1 seconde naar binnen, waarbij de schil dan buiten blijft.
Echt waar!
Ik heb het ook wel eens geprobeerd, maar het gaat alleen goed met kleine bananen!
Alleen ben ik vergeten wat voor soort apen daar zitten.
Maakt niet uit, ze hebben grote bekken, net zoals hier op GS!
