Blithe is niet aan zijn verwondingen overleden. Dat was een fout van de boek en dus ook de film. Pas bij de blu ray versie hebben ze daar een kleine kant tekening bij gezet. Is nog een hele rel geweest met zijn familie.

Dat ziet er inderdaad uit als Blithe, maar ik heb ergens gelezen dat Blithe in het echt niet dood was gegaan, maar ook nog meevocht in de pacific; zijn dood in de serie was dus alleen voor wat meer drama. Voor de rest zie ik weinig bekende gezichten terug; jammer, want ik vond de personages uit de eerste serie heel sterk neergezet.

Ik hoop dat die sterke emotionele band die je als kijker voelde tussen de personages; zoals in die eerste serie bij Randleman in Bastogne zag, deze serie weer weten te creeëren.

Daarnaast wil ik graag dat Winters er weer inzit!

De acteur die Albert Blithe speelt in BoB (Marc Warren) speelt volgens IMDB niet mee in The Pacific, dus het lijkt onwaarschijnlijk. Albert Blithe zelf heeft nog wel meegevochten in Korea (1950), maar volgens mij niet in Azië aangezien hij pas eind 1945 uit het ziekenhuis kwam.

Krijg je een nog beter beeld van wat voor soort kerels dat waren. Waren hele normale jongens maar toen de oorlog vorderde en ze na D-day (en opmars naar Caen), België, Market Garden en de Ardennen Duitsland binnen trokken, toen gingen ze pas loos. Wat je zag in BoB was niet echt waarheidsgetrouw. In de laatste aflevering schieten ze man neer die voor oud ss-er wordt aangezien. Dit is in werkelijkheid niet eenmaal, maar tigmaal gebeurd. Doet niets af aan de enorme inzet en heldhaftigheid welke zij getoond hebben, maar elk verhaal heeft 2 kanten. Hier een goed voorbeeld van de zinloosheid aan het einde van WWII. Zeker in de grensstreek rond Nijmegen zijn wel niet zo zinloos niet strategische doelen plat gegooid:
